KALES PRESS is a publisher of fine books rich in quality content and aesthetics. We strive to publish books that make a difference. Though we are small in size at present, our ambitions are to publish significant books.

Our emphasis is on serious nonfiction such as science, history, biography, and memoir. The scope of our program includes publishing the most distinguished authors we are capable of. For example, we have published a Nobel Prize laureate, a Pulitzer Prize winner, and a United States ambassador. Our premise is that these authors have wisdom important and critical to better understanding the world we live in—even though sometimes their commercial appeal may not be strong enough for a larger house to publish, as a small publisher we are afforded the opportunity to bring these authors' books into print. This applies too to our co-publications with distinguished institutions. We have published in association with the Smithsonian Institution and the Library of Congress. We also have a strong commitment to marketing each of our authors and titles to find their places in the public's exchange of ideas.

Recently, we have been publishing books in translation. By searching the world over for the best quality works we can find, even those in foreign languages which we then have translated, we offer an opportunity to open discussion on some of the most important topics of our day.

Overall, our emphasis is always on quality. As we grow, we look forward to reinventing ourselves with quality as the basis for our motivation.
